Blades of Glory
Warning: Some SpoilersThis movie was so much better than I thought it would be! I thought it would be like Talladega Nights, which was funny but not that good. In fact, it was largely unsatisfying, at least to me. But Blades of Glory was fantastic! The satisfaction started right off the bat, when in the opening credits I found out Jenna Fischer, Pam from the Office, was in it. Also, the guy who plays Alex Mahone on Prison Break also was in the beginning, and that was awesome too (his short role was probably the reason he was in my dream the night I saw that movie).
If you don't know what it's about, and the probability you don't is unlikely, it is about these two guys (Chazz Michael Michaels [a funny name] and Jimmy MacElroy, played by Will Ferrel and Jon Heder respectively) who get banned from figure skating, but they are only banned from Men's Singles, but they can still do pair skating. They originally hate each other, but then they slowly develop a friendship after they decide that they should pair up. The storyline is good, in that their rivals are these stuck-up, stupid, cheating skaters named Stranz Van Waldenberg and Fairchild Van Waldenberg. Their sister, Katie Van Waldenberg (Jenna Fischer) is forced to help them because her siblings say she has to because they blame her for their parents' death.
I won't ruin any of the storyline, but I will ruin some of the funny parts. HA HA. The funniest part was right after they both get banned, and Will Ferrel is working for some kids skating show thing called Grumplet's On Ice, or something like that. He plays a wizard, and it's so funny. It shows him inside the suit, like hot and sweaty and drinking this hard liquor, and that made me laugh so hard when it showed him like that. And he's like skating all drunk, and then he's like, "God damn, this is a son of a bitch", and then he throws up, and he's like, "I just threw up. That's the reality, folks. OOOh, ENCORE" and then he throws up again. It was so hilarious. But seriously, it was a really great movie, everything worked out so perfectly, I loved it. I give it a 98%, which is a 9.8/10 if you want to get movically technical about it.
