Smokin' Aces

There were a few things wrong with this movie. One, "Smokin'" is a very informal word, it should be "Smoking", "SmoKING Aces". Also, it was hard to really get into the characters, it didn't really suck you in. In fact, there were many characters whose names I didn't even know. Oh, another thing, why the hell did they name one of the main guys Israel? During the commercials, when it's talking about him [Israel], I'm thinking it's actually about the country Israel! It wasn't until before I was going to see the movie that I learned Israel was a person, not the country. Other people have also had this confusion. On a forum, a guy was like, "It takes place in Israel but I still don't want to see it." The storyline was also pretty confusing. The obvious thing is that a mobster wants Israel dead, and he has a $1,000,000 bounty. What's more complicated is it keeps showing this scene of a guy shooting another guy, and it's talking about this other FBI agent, and I nor the people I saw really understood that. At the end, it becomes more clear, and after reading the Wikipedia entry on the movie, it became even MORE clear, so now I actually appreciate the storyline because it was very clever, but during the viewing I didn't understand well so that was a downside.

Now the thing that was actually really cool: The action. There's a lot of action, and it's exaggerated and such but it's still really cool (my dad told me that it was kind of not real on purpose, a critic said it was done on purpose). Anyway, there are these two cool girls, and one has this really powerful sniper rifle... and that's cool. The assassin characters are cool and interesting and I think it's worth seeing the movie just because of them and the action.
