Welcome to NonHomonyms, another little funny section of w4t3r.com.
We've all heard of
homonyms, which are a pair of words which are spelled differently,
yet sound the same. An example is: would and wood, or word and
ward (wait, that's not a homonym... whatever). Homonyms get a lot
of publicity, but the nonhomonyms are left out, isolated from the
English language. Well this is a web page dedicated to showing the
world the list of nonhomonyms, which are words that are spelled
differently AND sound differently, such as paper and vine. Any type
of word is included in this list, proper nouns, interjections, if
it's a type of word, it's in this list (except prepositions, those
suck). More nonhomonyms will be added each week, sometimes
sporadically each day, so the list will constantly grow!
