A recent commercial I just saw asked me the question, "Where does depression hurt?" Approximately 4 seconds after asking the question, it went onto answer, saying "Everywhere." Then it asked "Who does depression hurt?" and promptly responded with "Everyone." How the hell does depression affect everyone? I'm sure that rich people, even middle class people, who are married and have a good job aren't depressed. I'm not depressed, my parents aren't depressed, my friends aren't depressed, my friends' parents aren't depressed. That's a lot of undepressed people right there, and that's just me. Plus, depression is actually a sickness that people can get off of work from, so, according to that commercial, everyone can go up to their boss and say:
"I need to take off work. Why? I'm depressed. Doctor's note? Oh, I don't need that, a commercial told me I have this dreaded illness. I hope that's acceptable."
I hope the producers of that commercial are happy, because they've set off a chain reaction that will put all of America out of work, leaving our country to crumble under the mighty foot of unemployment. May God help us all.
