AOL is trying to seem so cool. I remember a long time ago they changed up the AOL interface for kids, and called it, "Red". Then for over a year on the right hand side it said, "CAUTION: This is not your regular AOL. Rule-breaking, edgy content..." it had some more stuff. It had that for over a year, and I thought that was stupid. Also, none of the content was rule breaking or edgy, and it said that for everybody, even small children. I thought that was weird. However, I start this rant because of a more recent thing AOL has done (in fact, I think I ranted about the "Red" thing before...) They have this banner that is on some websites that says:

Now you can watch a gazillion free online videos

yep, we said free

You don't know how many times I had to refresh a certain page to see that ad and get the message down exactly... it took me 10 minutes, because this computer is so slow. As you can see, it is very unprofessional, with the use of made-up words (gazillion) and incorrect grammar (doesn't capitalize yep and there aren't any periods, but that's common, the period thing). Also, WHO CARES?! They're saying that free thing like it's a big deal. Guess what AOL, you're late to the party. YouTube and Google have the video market capped, and with YouTube's not-so-strict rules and your strict rules, guess who is going to win? Not you. My God, what is AOL thinking? I mean, 8 pound 6 ounce baby Jesus Christ, come on. It's pathetic.

People are constantly lying on the Internet. You have done it hundreds of times without even realizing it. There are many big lies, but there are small lies that millions of people do every single day, every hour, every minute. I won't say every second, but it's possible. What's the lie? It comes from three simple letters. "L-O-L". 80% of the time, when people say "lol", they are not laughing out loud, they simply find something funny. Saying "lol" implies you have actually laughed, but that's hardly the case. We need to combat these lies by introducing a new IM term. That's right, NEW. I call for "INSL", which stands for inside laugh. It's an inside laugh, not laugh out loud, but a laugh inside your mind. Now go, zombie readers of w4t3r (if there are any... I don't even know anymore), start using it!
